Attention High School Students Interested in Accounting

Written by on February 23, 2016

One of the local Big Four accounting firms, PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), has partnered for many years with Saunders College at RIT and the Diversity and Inclusion office to offer a program in the spring to bring PwC professionals and high school students together for a fun, engaging, and personalized experience with accounting. The program’s main goal is to increase underrepresented groups access into the accounting field.

This year they have about 5-10 student slots still open. They are looking for students who have an interest in exploring accounting, preferably rising juniors and stellar sophomores. The program consists of four Fridays, three at RIT, and a finale at PwC. On campus activities, materials and lunch are provided by PwC. The school districts must provide the transportation to and from the four days below.

If you are interested, they are asking for a very quick turn-around by next Tuesday, 2/23, with the following information:

·         How many students are you planning on bringing from your school?

·         Can you attend all of the following program dates?

o   March 11th

o   April 8th

o   April 29th

o   May 13th – closing date at PwC

·       Can your transportation accommodate a 9:00a.m. program start and 1:00p.m. finish?

If you have interested students, or for more information, please contact Sandy Woodruff Whitmore in the Diversity and Inclusion Office.  The deadline is TODAY, February 23rd, by calling (585) 475-5453 or you mail email her at swwpro@rit.edu .
