France and Fashion has been synonymously linked for years. Some of the world’s most influential and acclaimed designers are of French origin including, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, and now Olivier Rousteing.

In 2011, at age 24, after just two years with the French label, Rousteing replaced Christophe Decarnin as the Creative Director of Balmain.

Rousteing is commended for bringing a “new life” to what once was a nearly extinct fashion label. The personality and couture that is now prevalent in Balmain’s pieces has made this label the likely apparel choice amongst high profile celebrities including the likes of Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and Beyoncé.

The high fashion price tags combined with the brand’s popularity has increased Balmain’s revenue by 15 to 20 percent over the past three years; an advancement the label owes to its young and extroverted creative director.
