WHAT: “Filters for Flint”
to support the Flint Water Crisis (in Flint, Michigan)
WHEN: Saturday, January 30th from 9am- 1pm at Advantage Credit Union 1625 Mt. Hope Ave
WHY: More than 9,000 babies in Flint Michigan have been diagnosed with high levels of lead due to the contaminated water that they have been drinking/exposed to. Most of the individuals affected are poor people of color. Flint Michigan is now in a State of Emergency. This all happen when someone made the decision in 2014 to save money and no longer let the people who live in Flint receive water from Lake Huron. The now receive water from the Flint River and below you will see the affects:
