Janet Jackson, Lena Waithe, And Mary J. Blige Deliver Powerful Speeches #BlackGirlsRock

If you missed Black Girls Rock last night on BET you missed powerful speeches by Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and Lena Waithe.  
With so much going on this past weekend at New York Fashion Week BET’s Black Girls Rock came through with a ton of black excellence and of course black girl magic!

Janet Jackson looking like the Icon she is, so beautiful, was honored with the Rock Star Icon Award. In her speech she recognized other Icons in music like Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, and Queen Latifah.

Lena Waithe, who is one of my favorite people in the entertainment industry right now because of her brilliance, her fearlessness, her boldness, and her ability to create dope sh**.  If you are not familiar with her work she is the creator of the hit series The Chi.
Lena was honored with the Shot Caller Award.

I had to save the best for last, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige who was honored with the Star Power Award and had a beautiful introduction by Phylicia Rashad.
