Mandalay Bay Hotel Files Lawsuit Against 1,000 Victims Of Mass Shooting

Written by on July 18, 2018

As former President Barak Obama recently said we are living in strange times.
The owner of the Mandalay Bay hotel filed a lawsuit against 1,000 victims of the mass shooting that happened in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2017 killing 58 people.
MGM Resorts International said it could not be held liable for the deaths,  injuries, or any damages from the mass shooting according to legal documents filed in Nevada and California.
The lawsuit does not seek any money from the victims but is a way to dismiss any claims against MGM Resorts International and liability.
MGM also argues that the security firm that was hired was certified by the Department of Homeland Security and is therefore protected under the 2002 federal from any liability and that protection covers the hotel.
Needless to say the the attorney’s for the victims are not happy with this lawsuit. One of the lawyers for several of the victims Robert Eglet, said the lawsuit by MGM is “quite frankly verges on unethical.”
The victims have files lawsuit
