MLK Day 2018 Google Doodle Artist From Rochester Area

The artist of the image you see when you use Google today is actually from the Rochester area!

The MLK Day 2018 Google doodle image was created by Cannaday Chapman a graduate of Fairport High School. Chapman was born in Huntington, West Virginia but raised in the Rochester area. He also attended the School of Visual Arts in New York where he received his BFA in illustration and has been presented with awards from the Society of Illustrators.
Chapman worked in collaboration with the Black Google Network to create the image which depicts a little girl sitting on her fathers shoulders captivated by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Chapman currently works in Cleveland for the Illustration Studio at American Greetings’ and has done work for The New York Times, Oprah Magazine, Target, and many others!
