Florida Men Charged With Animal Cruelty For Dragging Shark (Video)

Written by on December 13, 2017

Three Florida men have officially been charged with two felony counts of animal cruelty for dragging a shark behind a speedboat. SMH…

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office made the announcement Tuesday that Michael Wenzel, 21, and Spencer Heintz, 23, of Palmetto; and Robert Lee Benac, 28 have all been charged with two felony counts of animal cruelty and two men were also charged with the illegal taking of a shark.

The incident happened back in July and was recorded on video. The video was sent to shark hunter Mark”The Shark” Quartiano by Wenzel.

Quartiano was clearly pissed and posted on his Instagram page and included PETA with the hashtags #sowrong #notcool which prompted the investigation into the video:

“CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WTF IS GOING ON HERE ???? JUST GOT THIS ON MY FEED ! SENT FROM @bearjew428 AND @MICHAELWENZEL.FOR ONCE I MAY HAVE TO AGREE WITH @PETA. #WHODOESTHISSHIT#sowrong #notcool”
