by News

More than $400,000 is coming to the University of Rochester to help in the fight against childhood cancer.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation announced Wednesday it awarded pediatric cancer research grants to two researchers at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Jessica Shand received $330,000 to find ways to use the immune system to fight leukemia and $100,000 is going to Dr. Craig Mullen who wants to make cancer drugs more effective by studying how to keep marrow cells from protecting leukemia cells.

St. Baldrick's is a charity that raises money for childhood cancer research.
