Steven Jordan -- or maybe you know him as "Stevie J" -- from reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, has been arrested for failing to pay more than $1 million in child support.
Jordan, 40, was arrested Monday night at his home in Atlanta. What's at issue: In 1999, according to an order from the New York County Family Court, Jordan was ordered to pay a minimum of $6,608 per month in child support for his two kids with music producer Carol Bennett. It was upped in 2011 to $8557 per month. His tab has grown to $1,107, 412.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara says in the arrest announcement that Jordan failed to pay while earning "substantial income from his participation in a reality television show." Specifically, Jordan was paid $27,000 per month starting in October 2012.
From January 2013 through August 2013, Jordan received at least $193,000 for his work on the reality television show. Nice money!
Jordan is charged with one count of failing to pay child support, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
