Students at MCC should plan on paying more to attend classes.
At a meeting Monday night, the MCC Board of Trustees approved a $126.9-million budget and a schedule of tuition and fees.
Tuition for full-time students for the 2014-2015 school year is set at $3,416, that's up $176 from the previous academic year. Officials say the tuition for part-time school will increase proportionality. Also going up, the technology fee. Students will now pay $175 instead of $125.
The last increase is the health insurance fee. College officials say all international students and students in clinical courses must provide proof of their own health insurance or purchase health insurance through the college. The cost in 2013-14 was $1,075 and will be raised to $1,730. We are told due to federal health care reforms, this year's plan is no longer available.
