The jury will resume deliberating in the Dawn Nguyen trial on Tuesday morning. She is the Greece woman accused of providing the guns used in the Christmas Eve ambush that killed two West Webster firefighters.
Nguyen is charged with falsifying business records in the first degree. She's accused of lying on a registaration for purchasing weapons at Gander Mountain in Henrietta in June 2010.
Those guns were used by William Spengler to kill two firefighters and injure two others.
It's believed Spengler killed his sister Cheryl before setting their Lake Road home on fire. After ambushing the first responders, Spengler then killed himself.
Members of the West Webster Fire Department were in court as jury deliberations began.
"It's been a long and difficult week for the fire, police and EMS families as well as the 911 folks. Sitting here at the trial and seeing the evidence, the text messages, the weapons were very disturbing. Today, Dawn Nguyen's attorney made a statement that the firemen are not a victim of this crime. We strongly feel that we are. While Dawn Nguyen did not pull the trigger, she facilitated the felon to do that," said Ted Scardino, who was wounded in the shooting.
State Supreme Court Justice Tom Moran instructed the jurors not to let the events of Christmas Eve 2012 be a deciding factor in the verdict.
Jurors will resume deliberating at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
