Rochester Police made two arrests and are searching for a third suspect in connection with the shooting of two people near Chili Avenue and Thurston Road. One of the victims is 11 years old.
Police arrested Quinten Singletary, 29; and Dominique Williams, 27; both of Rochester.
Police say Singletary was injured during an exchange of gunfire with another individual around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Both Singletary and Williams are charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
The 11-year-old happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"As far as the 11-year-old, our understanding is he's just somebody who just was on the street. At 10:30 in the morning, you'd expect that from young adults, young kids," said Chief James Sheppard of the Rochester Police Department. "As far as the other victim, he was arrested, he was part of this event and we believe it was an exchange of gunfire and hopefully we'll be able to identify the other party."
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing feud between Singletary and a suspect still at large.
