SAN FRANCISCO -- Twitter's boys' club board is poised to receive a fat payday.
Outside directors at the micro-blogging service will be eligible for a cash-and-stock compensation package valued at $16 million at a minimum. The compensation was revealed in an amended registration statement filed Tuesday.
Co-founders Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams serve as board directors along with Benchmark Capital partner Peter Fenton, former DoubleClick CEO David Rosenblatt and former News Corp executive Peter Chernin.
Directors' compensation will include up to $8 million in cash and $8 million in stock awards valued at their grant date.
Twitter became the subject of controversy in recent weeks when The New York Times pointed out that its executive ranks are made up entirely of all white males with the exception of one woman, who doesn't serve on the board.
