It appears doctors are writing fewer prescriptions to treat ADHD and mood disorders in young children.
Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center analyzed data on more than 43 thousand children between the ages of 2 and 5.
Between 1994 and 1997, 43 percent of kids diagnosed with a behavior disorder were prescribed medication.
That percentage fell to 29 percent by 2009.
Researchers think strong warnings issued in the mid-2000's about suicide and heart disease risks associated with some of the drugs may have lead to the decrease.
