Mayor Calls On Community For Ideas To Help Public Safety

If you have an idea you think can improve public safety in Rochester, The city wants to hear it.

Mayor Tom Richards has put money aside in the budget to go toward making an idea a reality.

Thursday was the third Voice of the Citizen meeting on this topic, giving people a chance to share those ideas. This meeting was at the Danforth Community Center.

We spoke with Minister Natalie Payne, of Faith Open Charity Worship Center, who believes people need to come together to look at solving the problems.

"It puts a face on the problem. And it puts a face on those who we put in office. And it makes us feel comfortable to know that yes, they truly do hear us and they too want to make a change. Whether we're in the suburbs or in the city, we still have a quality of life."

The city is hosting one more Voice of the Citizen meetings on this topic. It will be Monday, September 16th at the Carter Street Community Center.
