Former Greece Police Chief Merritt Rahn has filed for bankruptcy.
Rahn and his wife filed Chapter 13 in court last Friday. According to the paperwork filed, the Rahn's reported a net debt of nearly $300,000.
If the petition is successful, the remaining debt, which largely consists of credit card expenses, would be forgiven.
Rahn was convicted of evidence tampering in 2010. He was accused of trying to cover up the DWI hit and run crash involving former Sergeant Nick Joseph.
Released on parole in December 2012, Rahn served 28 months of a two-and-a-half to five-year state prison term.
