A Montreal based premium menswear brand will acquire Hickey Freeman, allowing the company to stay and expand in Rochester while creating new jobs.
After much debate over the future of the Hickey Freeman, Samuelsohn Limited will enter into a 40-year license agreement with the Rochester plant.
Senator Chuck Schumer says Samuelsohn will preserve jobs in Rochester and possibly add new ones by expanding distribution. The Canadian suit-maker currently has a presence in over 250 department stores in North America including Saks Fifth Avenue, Niemann Marcus and Nordstrom.
Hickey Freeman has been apart of the Rochester Community for 114 years.
