Rainy Month Leads To Mosquito Concerns

Rochester, N.Y. - The Rochester-area has seen a rise in mosquitos from the wet and rainy start to June.

A state health department spokesperson said that ponding caused by repeat and heavy rains led to an increase in mosquitoes.

The increased number of mosquitoes can also lead to an increased risk for mosquito-spread diseases, like the West Nile Virus.

Doctors advise you to wear insect repellant to protect yourself.
