A judge has rejected a plea deal for a Brighton teen charged in a crash last year involving a school bus.
John Zakhary's attorney says he reached a deal with the prosecution for probation in exchange for a guilty plea. However, the judge rejected it.
Both sides will return to court next month. If a plea deal is not reached, the case will go to trial.
Zakhary faces several charges, including reckless driving and violating his restricted junior driver's license.
Police say he was driving three friends home from school when he slammed into the back of a bus on Warren Avenue last October. All of the students were injured.
