Pilato Verdict Justice To Neighbors

Webster, N.Y. - Walk up Cardile Drive in Webster on a nice day and you'll see garage doors open, kids running across the street and neighbors talking with one another.

Of late, one topic of conversation has been justice.

"Every life is very valuable and the person snuffed out three lives," said John Majcher.

Majcher is referring to Michael Pilato, who lived a few doors down.

On Thursday, a jury found Pilato guilty of 3 counts of murder in the 2nd degree among other charges.

On December 7, 2011, Pilato, who was 16 at the time, set fire to his home killing his father and two brothers.

"People were worried he would be let loose again," Majcher said.

Pilato's mother, Elaine, however says she wanted nothing more than bring her son home.

"He didn't do this on purpose," she said. "He's not a monster."
