Yeezus

Kanye West's new album "Yeezus" hits stores this Tuesday, June 18th along side J. Cole's "Born Sinner." Which one are you getting? "Yeezus?" "Born Sinner?" Both?

I was very interested in listening to Kanye West's new album mainly because of the title. Who does he think he is? Well, I guess he kind of answered the question with the title, "Yeezus." Although Kanye is a hot mess, I cannot deny his talent. Kanye put together a work of art with this album. The beats sound futuristic and combined with his flow he just murders it. It sounds like a combination of both his "808's And Heartbreaks" and "Dark Twisted Fantasy" albums.

My favorite songs on the album are, "On Sight," "I Am A God," and "New Slaves." Most people may feel hesitant to listen to the whole album because it is so loud and in your face the entire time. It has a metallic, wild, and melancholy sound that has a wide variety of samples ranging from reggae artist Capleton to Jazz artist and Civil Rights activist Nina Simone. Kanye must really be "Yeezus" because he even has God as a feature on his "I Am A God" track.

All in all I really like the album. It is so different from all the other rap music that is out right now much like how he did with "Dark Twisted Fantasy." If you need something different, I suggest you give this a try.
