Syracuse, N.Y. - Former Syracuse Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine's defamation lawsuit against ESPN is moving to a federal court.
In a filing with the New York State Supreme Court, Fine also dropped legal action against several co-defendants in the case. Those defendants include reporter Mark Schwarz, the Walt Disney Company and Hearst Corporation.
Fine, who was fired in 2011, is suing over ESPN reports alleging he molested two former ball boys two decades ago.
The former coach was never officially charged -- and maintains his innocence.
