School leaders say Shanique Davis and Tayanna Chandler helped a young girl who was being attacked in the hallway at school. Both girls say they immediately ran out after hearing yelling.
They noticed the younger student crying and told the others to stop. The girls then went a step further and told school officials about the incident.
School leaders say because these two decided to speak up, others who had witnessed previous incidents came forward as well.
Tayanna Chandler said, "I feel like I needed to step forward cause nobody was going to do it. And maybe all them were scared of that girl. She could have been bullying all of them."
Shanique Davis said, "If you don't step in. Imagine everyone else thinking like you. So if nobody steps in what's going to get resolved. Nothing will get resolved. Somebody has to be the one to step in and try to change something."
Both young ladies attend Vanguard Collegiate, which is located inside Franklin High School.
