The mother of a Monroe High School student who was stabbed Thursday afternoon says her son has more than 12 staples in his chest and is in guarded condition in the ICU.
Valentina Williams spent the day at Strong Hospital after she found out her son, Hassan Williams, 15, was stabbed after getting off the bus Thursday afternoon.
She says she got a call saying her son was hit by a car, but later found out he was stabbed more than 10 times in the chest and lower body. She said it happened on Broad and Stone streets just before 4 p.m. Thursday.
"I am very upset. I mean, it's a shame. You got so many young kids out here, you ask them to read a book, they not going to tell you what the book's about. They can't even read you a sentence, but you're going to pick up a knife and hurt another innocent kid. He's 15 years old, he don't bother nobody, he get good grades, he's a very good kid. A very bright kid. He's very strong."
Valentina says police, investigators and his high school have been very helpful throughout the process.
