Rochester, N.Y. - Filming has begun in downtown Rochester for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
Crowds of onlookers were in the area early this morning, hoping to get a glimpse of the action.
The city of Rochester has closed several streets in the area while the filming continues through May 9.
The closures will vary from day-to-day.
On Tuesday, East Main Street is closed from eastbound to North Clinton Avenue, and Stone Street. Local traffic only will be allowed between Broad Street and East Main Street. Saint Paul Street is also closed intermittently to allow southbound traffic to cross East Main Street.
Daily street closures will begin around 5 a.m. and will last through 9 p.m. during filming.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to allow 15 to 20 extra minutes to enter and exit Downtown during that time.
The primary street closures for today are:
Main Street from Plymouth Avenue to Clinton Avenue will be closed to vehicles.
Pedestrians requiring access to buildings along this section of Main Street will be directed by Rochester police officers and/or film production company staff (who will wear identifiable credentials) posted at intersections.
Saint Paul Street between Andrews Street. and Main Street. will be closed intermittently to allow for access across Main Street.
Vehicle and pedestrian access to buildings, parking lots and garages on this section of Saint Paul Street will be permitted.
The following streets will be limited to local traffic:
Montgomery Alley from Church Street to Main Street.
School Alley from Main Street to Broad Street.
Fitzhugh Street. from Church Street to Main Street
Fitzhugh Street from Main Street. to Broad Street.
Pindle Alley from Church Street to Main Street.
Irving Place from Main Street to Broad Street.
State Street from Church Street to Main Street.
Exchange Boulevard. from Main Streeet to Broad Street.
Aqueduct Street from Broad Street to Main Street.
Stone Street from Broad Street to Main Street.
Vehicle access to buildings, parking lots and garages on these streets will be permitted.
Pedestrian access to buildings, parking lots and garages will be permitted.
