Rochester RazorSharks Loss 1st Game of the Season to West Virginia

The Rochester RazorSharks gave up five-point leads twice with two minutes to go in regulation and fell for the first time this season, losing 113-107 to the West Virginia Miners Thursday night at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester Community War Memorial.

The RazorSharks led by two with seven seconds to go in regulation following two Jarhon Giddings free throws. The Miners set a pick at the top of the key on Tony Bennett that looked like it could have been called for a moving screen but it was not. Jabril Bailey scored on a layup to send the game into overtime.

Bennett led the RazorSharks with 31 points including back-to-back layups in overtime that helped Rochester jump out to the five-point lead. Rochester shot 41 percent from the field including 12-for-35 on 3-pointers, but they were never able to take control.
