Different Feeling Opening MLB Season

Lights! Camera! Play Ball! Opening day has passed and Major League Baseball has officially opened their 2013 season. For the past decade, we have been accustomed to the same team dominating their divisions. We have had a couple of seasons with upcoming teams such as the Tampa Bay Rays. But for the first time in a while, we open the season with new names and faces ready to dominate.

With Derek Jeter being on the disabled list, for the first time in a while, the New York Yankees had somebody with a number different than the number 2 playing shortstop at Yankee Stadium. He's not the only one. Jeter joins Alex Rodriguez, Phil Hughes, Mark Texeira and Curtis Granderson on the long list of Yankee stars injured opening the season. With the rise of the Baltimore Orioles, and the star covered roster of the Toronto Blue Jays; the Yankees chances of the playoffs are in trouble.

This year's favorites to win the World Series are not the usual Yankees, Red Sox's, Phillies and Cardinals. But yet upcoming young teams such as the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals (okay maybe not yet) and the Baltimore Orioles. But yet again, you can't count the old teams out.

Who is your favorite to win this year's World Series?
