Police Remain On The Scene of Victor Standoff
by News

Authorities have been on the scene since 9:30 a.m. Monday after receiving 911 calls from neighbors on Ketchum Street in the village of Victor.

Sheriff Phil Povero says a man came out of his home and fired three shots into vehicles in his driveway. Deputies say the man went back into his home and then went into the backyard, where he fired another shot into the air.

Deputies say there have been no contact with the man since then, and do not know if there is anyone else inside the home.

Armored personnel carriers are on scene to help deputies.

"An armored personnel carrier, which has joined us here from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, did approach the two vehicles parked in the driveway," Povero said. "There is evidence of damage caused by gunshots, but other than that, the vehicles are clear; there's nothing else of any significance inside the vehicles."

Povero said the armored personnel have since backed of the home; however, they remain in position in the event that they're needed. Another armored personnel carrier from the Rochester Police Department has arrived on scene, as well as another emergency response vehicle from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
