Finally, The Rock has come back . . . as WWE Champion. Yes, you read that right. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made his much anticipated return to World Wrestling Entertainment and became WWE for the first time in ten years. Commentator Michael Cole mentioned it has been 3280 days since The Rock has been champion. Mind you, CM Punk has been champion for 434 consecutive days, the longest reign in 25 years.
Expect a large amount of people unhappy after this championship change because of the fact that The Rock isn't an everyday active wrestler and CM Punk's unprecedented reign has to end because of a money idea. Having The Rock as WWE Champion is an obvious move in order to boost ratings and to promote Wrestlemania, which will be held on April 7th at MetLife Stadium.
Is it fair to Punk? I don't believe so, but WWE is a business and is all about their money. So after 434 days of being the current top guy in the wrestling world, his reign came to an end to probably the all-time top guy of World Wrestling Entertainment.
How long will this Rock reign last? Most likely until Wrestlemania, which is the main event in mind by making The Rock champion and Rock's big film "G.I. Joe" is released a week before Wrestlemania. It's all a business and promotional move but a move that will make many angry but many be excited to once again watch The Rock hold the WWE Championship and electrify the crowd at least one more reign.
Do you like The Rock becoming WWE Champion again? Is it fair to CM Punk?
