Sports Predictions

First and foremost, Happy New Year from your #1 Radio Station 1039 WDKX.

As we bring in 2013 and we look back at the top moments on sports this past year. So many unpredictable things happened and some things that were almost expected. For example, Miami Heat won the NBA Championship and LeBron James took home his very first crown. The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots for the second time in five years and Tiger Woods once again went another year since his well publicized incident, without winning a major title.

It is time to play fortune teller and predict what will happen this upcoming year in the sports world. I have created three different categories for the predictions I am going to make. First category is, "Obviously" the second is "You Sure About That?" & the third and final will be "You Must Be Out of Your Mind." The category names speak for themselves. As I have predictions that many will find obvious, some will consider and some that people will call me crazy. Once again, Happy New Year and enjoy. Well, here we go.

Obviously
The Miami Heat repeats as NBA champions & LeBron James will win MVP for the 4th time in his career.

Manchester United wins the English Premier League title, dominantly.

Rory McIlroy wins his first Masters title. Not Tiger Woods.

Baylor repeats as national women's basketball champions. Brittany Griner, the most dominant post player in women's history, will end her college career with another title.

You Sure About That?
There's no clear-cut Super Bowl favorite this year, so my projection can fit in this category. The Green Bay Packers will defeat the Denver Broncos to win their 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years.

Notre Dame defeats Alabama in the BCS Championship Game.

Tiger Woods wins a major. He has to win one at some point, right?

The NHL lockout doesn't end and we miss a whole year of hockey.

The Toronto Blue Jays make the playoffs but the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim win the World Series.

Manny Pacquaio will avenge his knockout lost to Juan Manuel Marquez and knocks him out in their 5th fight and Floyd Mayweather fights once this year.

You Must Be Out of Your Mind
A No. 16 seed will beat a No. 1 seed in March Madness. It has never happened since the men's tournament expanded to 64 teams back in 1985. It will this year.

Tim Tebow joins the Jacksonville Jaguars and makes the playoffs. Take that, New York Jets.

Russel Wilson will actually suffer a sophomore slump and RGIII will have a better season than Andrew Luck once again.

The Los Angeles Lakers get the 8th seed in the Western Conference and lose in the first round of the playoffs.
