Actress Keisha Chante, who was chosen to star as the late Aaliyah in a film about the fallen star's life, recently spoke about what happened to the project, which hasn't made any advances in status for the last three years, she was chosen to star. She tells Chris Yandek of CYInterview.com that the project is still "lingering" but that Aaliyah's family is still morning the singer's loss. She says it's still uncomfortable for her to talk about the film, because she doesn't want to disrespect the family, but that she's spoken to producers about it. She says Aaliyah's family gets calls about her, in order to create the storyline, but they're not 100 percent ready to discuss, however they don't own all the rights to the film and so the project could get green lit without their say-so.
