Councilman and Community Residents Hold Burglary Prevention Clinic
Rochester City Councilman Adam McFadden and 19th Ward Community residents have organized a Burglary Prevention Clinic to teach homeowners how to secure their homes.
When: Saturday, October 15th
From: 10 AM to 1 PM
Where: 121 Lincoln Avenue (off West Avenue)
The clinic, which is open to anyone in the Rochester community, has a goal of teaching homeowners and renters how to make sure their residences are safe from break-ins. Officers from the Rochester Police Department will deliver 15 minute home security briefings. Home security companies and home insurance companies will be present, as well as, a locksmith and a hardware store. There will also be a fire safety demonstration by Bob Crandall of Prevention First and a workshop on social media and crime prevention by Dan DeMarle of Crime Alert. Representatives from community public safety groups will be on hand to talk about setting up block clubs, neighborhood watches, Facebook groups and other public safety initiatives.
