Individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 can just stop by. Testing for matches is done with a simple swab of the inside of your cheek. If a match is found, the actual donation process is as simple as giving blood. A surgical procedure is no longer necessary for bone marrow donation.
African Americans and Hispanics are dramatically underrepresented in the National Bone Marrow Registry.
