Chris Brown To Donate Tour Money
by Dean

Chris Brown announced he will donate partial proceeds of his upcoming "Fan Appreciation" tour to a domestic violence intervention program.

On June 22, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault for beating Rihanna and accepted a plea deal of community labor, five years' formal probation and domestic violence counseling.

The singer's 19-city jaunt, designed to "acknowledge and thank his fans for their on-going support," kicks off Nov. 14 at the House of Blues in Houston.

"[It] is conceptualized for and with 'fans only' in mind, so intimate venues were selected for these concerts," read a press release from his camp.

A portion of the tour proceeds will be donated to The Jenesse Center, a Los Angeles-based organization founded in 1980 to deal with the effect of domestic violence on American families.

Proceeds will also benefit the charity Best Buddies International. Founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver in 1989, Best Buddies is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted solely to providing friendships, jobs and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

"While on tour, Chris plans to visit with Best Buddies participants, as well as encourage his fans to consider volunteering their time to work with those in their own communities who have intellectual and developmental disabilities," the release stated.
