Just as news broke that Jermaine Jackson will serve on the judging panel of a new Michael Jackson-themed dance show in the UK, the singer also fired back at critics who claim he's trying to cash in on his brother's death.
Ever since Michael Jackson passed away in June from cardiac arrest, Jermaine has remained in the public eye, speaking about his brother's death to numerous media outlets. He was also the driving force behind a doomed memorial concert in Vienna, Austria, which was scrapped when he failed to pull in enough big names to appear at the show.
However, Jermaine says allegations he is using his brother's death to make money for himself are down right "absurd."
"That is the most ridiculous thing ever," he told Starpulse.com. "It is not about cashing in on what has happened. It is responsibility on all of our parts as brothers and sisters to keep his legacy alive."
"I would love to see something done in my brother's honor every year, because he was that well-respected around the globe. So for the media to say this is absurd. It is stupid. It is crazy."
Meanwhile, DigitalSpy.com is reporting that Jermaine will serve as a judge for the new BBC 3 dance show "Move Like Michael Jackson," a search for dancers who "have the spirit, showmanship and technical ability of the late singer," producers stated.
"Michael was a superb dancer who inspired people across the world to master his moves and create their own unique routines," Jermaine said in a statement. "I'm really excited and delighted to be part of this show and look forward to finding the UK's most talented and inspiring dancers."
Auditions will be held across the country during October and the six-part series will be stripped across one week later in the year.
