Count Mary J. Blige among the crowd who remains baffled by Kanye West, who famously interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday as she was accepting an award.
"People are going through more than what you can imagine. I love Kanye, and I wish the best for him," she told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at a Gucci party in NYC. "I pray that whatever's going on with him, he deals with it."
Earlier this week, Blige promoted her charity - Foundation For the Advancement of Women - by joining Gucci America's President, Daniella Vitale to light up the Empire State Building. The two flipped a switch that flooded Manhattan's most famous icon in white, yellow, and purple light.
"I'm so proud of the colors that we've chosen," Blige told reporters, "because they represent the colors of a mythical bird called the phoenix, which never, ever dies - it just keeps regenerating itself out of beautiful things."
