Patrick Swayze Dies
Actor Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, his publicist confirmed Monday. He was 57.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.
Swayze's role in "Dirty Dancing" propelled him to stardom in 1987. His fame hit an even higher level with a turn in the 1990 romantic drama "Ghost."
His most recent role was in the critically hailed A&E drama "The Beast."
