Michael Jackson will be buried on what would have been his 51st birthday, his dad Joe Jackson told the AFP.
The late singer's birthday burial will take place at L.A.'s Forest Lawn Cemetary on August 29 -- more than two months after the King of Pop died on June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest.
Joe, 80, told the AFP that the burial would be a private event, although he could not say which family members would be present.
Jackson's official cause of death will not be revealed until the final autopsy report is released by the Los Angeles County coroner's office and the manslaughter investigation is complete, an official said last week.
Meanwhile, the Jackson family has continued planning tributes for Michael. Joe plans to return to Las Vegas after the burial for a "Las Vegas Celebrates the Music of Michael Jackson" event in which area entertainers will sing his hits.
Brother Jermaine Jackson is reportedly organizing a concert that will take place Sept. 26 at a palace in Vienna, Austria. (According to Jermaine, the venue was chosen because his brother "loved castles.")
