LA County Workers View MJ Files
Several department workers at the Los Angeles Country coroner's office improperly looked up Michael Jackson's death certificate.
Chief Investigator Craig Harvey tells the Los Angeles Times that only the person investigating the cause of death needs access to the death certificate, but some staff members printed copies of the file before it became a public record.
Harvey also told the paper that the document is stored in a computer system supervised by the state, and had been viewed more than 300 times.
According to the Associated Press, staffers have been warned by an e-mail from the coroner's captain that improper use of Jackson's file is a violation of internal rules, and could result in disciplinary action.
