Request A Song

During the height of his career, Michael Jackson was arguably the biggest celebrity in the world. His death Thursday afternoon at the age of 50 of cardiac arrest came as a shock.
WDKX disc jockey Atu Tramel was at work when he heard the news. He knew he had to do something, so he temporarily changed his format to all Michael, all the time.
He took requests and played his favorites. Looking on, Wake-Up Club Co-Host Tariq Spence.was still trying to figure out how to put Jackson's death into words.
"How do you put in perspective, someone you grew up with, the last great American Icon? How do you do it?" he said.
For Spence, Jackson was more than a performer; he was an inspiration.
"Everybody wanted to moon walk. Everyone wanted to win the dance competition using Michael Jackson's moves," he said.
