A stamped at a music festival in Morocco featuring such stars as Alicia Keys, Kylie Minogue and Stevie Wonder killed at least 11 people, most of them women and children.
The deadly incident in the capital city of Rabat also injured at least 30 others, including five adults and three children, who remained in intensive care Sunday, according to officials.
The victims were among some 70,000 fans, mostly young people, who had flocked to the Mawazine festival Saturday night to see a performance by Moroccan star Abdelaziz Stati at the Hay Nahda stadium.
The show started later than scheduled. As performances, including Wonder's, ended shortly after midnight, fans surged forward and began climbing over wire fencing.
Police said the barrier apparently collapsed under the crowd's weight, sparking panic and the deadly stampede.
They later found the bodies of five women, four men and two children, all Moroccan, who apparently suffocated in the crush.
