Chrisette Michele will follow her 2009 Grammy win with the release of her sophomore album titled Epiphany in March. Her first single, which is the title track written by Ne-Yo, entered the R&B/Hip-Hop charts at #78.
Chrisette says that she first heard the track and the word drew her attention because she had been through a lot in her last relationship and the word "epiphany" represented what happened when she realized that she didn't have to put herself through it anymore. She is optimistic and says that her album will reflect that.
Epiphany features no guest collaborations but she describes the sounds as more upbeat and youthful. Michele's first release, I Am, has sold 419-thousand copies in the United States.
Epiphany will hit stores on March 31st.
