FREE FAMILY DAY AT MEMORIAL ART GALLERY CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Sunday, February 15 from noon to 5 pm, all ages are invited to Black History Month Family Day at the Memorial Art Gallery.
Admission is free and includes:
* Hands-on art activities (noon to 4 pm)
* Storytelling by Miss Sweet Potato Pie (12:30 pm)
* "Hatshepsut: She Wears the Beard, She Says I'm King," presented by Kuumba Consultants (1 pm)
* "The Rise and Fall of Medieval Africa What Happened?" presented by Baobab Cultural Center (1:30 pm)
* talk on Harriett Tubman sculpture by MAG assistant curator Sydney Greaves (2:30 pm)
* Music and dance performances by Sojourner House's Dreamseeds (3 pm)
* Jazz by Jimmie Highsmith Jr. (3:30 pm)
