Barry Bonds Pleads Not Guilty

U.S. home-run record-holder Barry Bonds has pleaded not guilty for the third time to charges that he lied to a grand jury about taking steroids.

According to Reuters, the 44-year-old "stood quietly in a tan suit" Thursday as his lawyer pleaded not guilty on his behalf to 10 counts of lying to the jury and one count of obstruction of justice.

Later on Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston was to hear arguments on whether evidence, including a drug test prosecutors say show Bonds used steroids and a taped conversation about Bonds and performance-enhancing drugs, is strong enough for a jury to consider.
