A New York judge has tossed a $50 million lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend of 50 Cent who claimed the rapper went back on a promise to take care of her for life.
Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice Carol Edmead dismissed the claims of Shaniqua Tompkins, who also accused 50 of trying to evict her and their 12-year-old son, Marquise, from their Long Island, N.Y. home.
While the amount sought turned out to be irrelevant, the judge said the 33-year-old rapper's worth is "set at no less than $50 million" and his relationship with Tompkins was "an unfortunate tale of a love relationship gone sour."
"I'm very thankful for this decision," said 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson. "I knew that once the facts were heard that justice would prevail. I hope now that we can put this behind us and move forward with our lives."
Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, said she will consider an appeal.
