Michelle Obama has selected Los Angeles based decorator, Michael Smith, to help make The White House a home for the Obama family.
According to Domino Magazine, Smith has worked with many famous clients including Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Brian Grazer, Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford.
Ironically, the designer told the magazine in April 2008 about his desire to revamp The White House.
"I would love to redecorate the White House," he says in the article. "I am sick of the paint color!"
The selection of Smith as the Obama's decorator was announced on Tuesday.
"I am delighted to work with the Obamas as they bring their own energy and style to the residence at The White House," he said after receiving the news. "The family's casual style, their interest in bringing 20th Century American artists to the forefront and utilizing affordable brands and products will serve as our guiding principles as we make the residence feel like their home."
