Diplomats capo Jim Jones was hit with a misdemeanor assault charge after turning himself in at the 18th precinct in New York yesterday morning. He went to talk to investigators about an incident that allegedly occurred on Christmas Eve that ended with him in scrap that involved Ne-Yo and/or one or more of his entourage.
The incident took place in the Louis Vuitton store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. According to several blog reports, including MissInof.tv, members of Jones' entourage fought with an associate of Jay-Z's who works for Ne-Yo. That associate is said to be the brother of longtime Jay-Z friend and business colleague Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith.
According to allhiphop.com. Jones surrendered to the NYPD in accordance with arrangements made by his attorney last week. Jim Jones is scheduled to appear in court on February 4th. Jones was released without bail immediately after making his statement.
