Jazmine Sullivan pulled down a surprising five Grammy nominations, including 'Best New Artist,' when the nods were revealed last Wednesday.
Sullivan came into the music scene as a teenager signed with Jive Records but after two years, the label dropped her and her album. After much writing and collaborating, Sullivan topped the charts with her first single, "Need U Bad," reaching #1, she has gained recognition in the crowd of newcomers demanding the Recording Academy to take notice. She was also nominated for 'Best Contemporary R&B Album,' 'Best Female R&B Vocals,' 'Best Traditional R&B Vocal,' and 'Best R&B Song.'
She plans to bring her parents to the Grammy ceremony and is happy that this event will make people take notice of who she is as an artist.
