Allan Houston Says Thanks For The Prayers

Allan Houston, who's expected to play this upcoming NBA season for the Phoenix Suns, released a letter to his supporters for their prayers and emails as his daughter Jade underwent heart surgery on August 13th. Below is the letter in its entirety:

Dear Global Gospel and Holy Hip Hop Community Prayer Partners and Friends:

My wife and I cannot express how much we appreciated your prayers for our daughter, Jade, as she underwent heart surgery on August 13, 2008.

The Tuesday night before the surgery, I received an overflow of emails of supporters, brothers and sisters in Christ, commanding the Word of God over Jade's heart condition. Psalm 107:20 'He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions'.

Wow! You all have no idea how powerful it was to see hundreds of people with the hearts of God, pulling on His promises, praying and pleading the blood of Jesus over my daughter. No one knew Jade, or me or my wife personally, but the outpouring of support and the love of God displayed was overwhelming to me.

Naturally, right before the surgery, there were moments of anxiety. I then looked down at my blackberry and was reminded hundreds of times that 'THE EFFECTIVE, FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILS MUCH!!' Your prayers did not allow those anxious thoughts to last long at all. I was reminded she was in not only good hands, but she was in THE hands of God. Jade's surgery was quick and the doctors said she will be fine. She recovered wonderfully and she is now home. My mind and writing skills cannot truly articulate how thankful we are for your time and love. This is the love that Christ gives us, when we have a burden for His children, even when we may not personally know them.

A story that I would also like to share: During our 4 days in the hospital with our daughter (Jade), next door to us there was a baby boy named Tryistyn, only 3 months old, with a congenital heart failure and stroke. Tristyn has 1 of 2 cases that have ever been diagnosed with this condition. He has not been home since birth and the doctors in one of the best hospitals in the world for this condition literally are not sure how to proceed. I spoke with Tristyn's mother about all of the prayers we had received from each of you and I felt a heavy burden to ask all of you prayer warriors to pull down on the garment of Jesus again and to uplift Tristyn and Tristyn's mother in prayer!!! Thank you. JAMES 5:17. Amen.

Blessings and Thank You All Again So Very Much for Your Prayers and Support!!!
Yours Truly,
Allan

P.S.: I hope to not be over doing it, but keep me lifted up as this NBA season starts and I go into training camp this year to play. God showed me 4 years ago that He would restore my body to full health and I would be playing in the NBA again for His glory, NOT MINE! I just want the world to know what an awesome God we serve.
