R&B singer, Joe, is alleging that R. Kelly tried to sabotage his career. Joe recently left the label that both singers called home at one time. After being with the imprint for 11 years it wasn't until Joe left that he realized why his career wasn't on the top.
According to Joe, R. Kelly pressured label executives to stop all promotion for Joe's records when his singles started to heat up. "R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records
being played on the radio. He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, 'Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.' And they would oblige."
But Joe says that he's happier now that he's on independent and says that he's going to "pay R. Kelly back in some sort of side bar kind of thing."
Meanwhile, Joe is releasing a new album, New Man, on September 22nd.
